Announcing Sierra Mutual Aid
We are proud to announce the launch of Sierra Mutual Aid — a new community-driven platform built to support neighbors across the Sierras.
Sierra Mutual Aid is designed to make it easier for people to request help, offer support, and strengthen local resilience. While core functionality is still in development, the foundation is now live — and we're inviting the community to help shape what comes next.
Our Current Focus: Food Resilience
Right now, our main focus is food-centered resilience through community gardens and building a stronger local food system. We're working to map the resources — people, skills, land, water, and connections — needed to co-create a radically self-reliant grassroots food network in our community.
As part of this effort, we've launched the Tuolumne County Food Web Map — a survey to help us understand what our community already has and what we need to grow together. If you have land, skills, water access, or simply a willingness to participate, we want to hear from you.
Why Sierra Mutual Aid?
Life in the Sierras comes with unique challenges — distance between towns, wildfire risk, severe weather, and limited services. We believe neighbors should have a simple, trusted way to show up for one another during everyday needs and emergencies alike.
Our vision is a community where no one faces hardship alone.
